Hello! Welcome to my little corner of the web. My name is Taylor and I am the sassy, thrifty, creative behind LANE & IVORY. I started this brand with very little preparation or knowledge of what it would become, but I knew I wanted to start something that could represent me as an aspiring multi-passionate female business owner.
I went to school in Australia where I fell in love with the culture and character of the country. It's where I caught the thrifting bug and found my love for repurposing someone else's trash and turning it into my own treasure. My background is in Theology & Worship Ministry but when I moved home from college I wanted to seek out a new path and build a career on my own as a business owner and entrepreneur.
Fast forward a few years, I met my wonderful Minnesota husband (in Mississippi of all places) where we got married 10 months later. Drew is currently in the Air Force and working on his masters full time and has been my greatest supporter and encourager to pursue my dream of building a business from the ground up.
After coordinating and thrifting my entire wedding, I realized how much I loved creating experiences and designing spaces on a budget that make memories that last a lifetime. I thrive on the challenge of creating something BEAUTIFUL on a BUDGET using lots of creativity, resourcefulness and innovative ideas...and I love taking you with me!

what's in a name?
LANE: I've always said my love for thrifting came from my grandfather, Poppy Forrest. Ever since I was a little girl he has gone to garage sales in the early hours of the day and over decades accumulated some amazing treasures. As I got older he would let me rummage through his storage units and take anything that caught my eye. When I decided to start my own business I knew I wanted that thrifty spirit to be represented... well, his middle name is LANE and that made it an easy start!

My artistic side has always been drawn to company names with two words and an "&" in the middle, so when I decided to create a business/brand, I knew I needed a name with two words that described my creative spirit and old soul and encompassed my vision for an ever-evolving female owned business name.

IVORY: When I originally started thinking about owning my own business, my first plan was to be a wedding coordinator because I truly love hosting and planning events...and then after thrifting, planning and designing my own wedding the word IVORY came to mind and seemed like the perfect second word to complete the name of my new adventure. I also love the idea of a white clean slate - it's like a blank canvas ready for you to breathe color and life into.
I am fully convinced Drew and I have the best family in the world. We are both the oldest of 3 and have parents that met in high school and both families have been through some incredible medical trials and miracles over the years. My middle brother was born with special needs and we were told he wouldn't live to be more than 8 years old - he turns 27 this year and we don't take one moment with him for granted! On Drew's side, his dad was diagnosed with a rare cancer 4 years ago and has beat it 3 separate times. We are currently living in Minnesota near his family to enjoy every moment and celebrate my father-in-laws time in remission. We have been through a roller coaster of life events since getting married and I often share little tid bits of our story on instagram. BUT now that I've launched this website, I hope to share more about each part of our family life and story through the BLOG.
